  12. MidiGate is a MIDI player and Web browser
  13. helper application. It will start
  14. playing one or more files as soon as
  15. they are chosen. Unlimited queuing is
  16. automatic. Looping. Can show ASCII
  17. contents. Standard play controls.

  23. Short Description
  24. -----------------
  25. MIDIGate can be used either as a stand-alone MIDI player or as
  26. a Web browser helper application.
  27.  
  28. - MidiGate will start PLAYING as soon as given a filename argument.
  29. - MidiGate's Queue allows you to click many .mid file links,
  30.   as fast as your winsock allows: they will all be entered in the queue.
  31.   There's no need to wait for one file to complete downloading
  32.   before clicking to download another file.
  33. - Use the Save As function before you exit your browser though:
  34.   Otherwise the files (usually downloaded in your Temp directory)
  35.   will be deleted by the exiting browser before they have a
  36.   chance to be played!
  37. - Seek feature by pointing to the gauge
  38.  
  39. Some new features have been added to the latest release.
  40. - By editing MIDIGATE.INI you can choose to reset
  41.    the midi system each time MidiGate starts a new sequence.
  42. - Select one or more files to place in the queue at once.
  43. - Delete one or more files from your disk at once.
  44. - Queue all files in one instance (unlimited number)
  45. - Save and recall your favorite queues
  46. - Looping, auto-exit, auto-stop control
  47. - "Stay-on-top" function
  48. - Scan for text in the midi file (while playing)
  49. - <NEW> Play one of four midi reset files (GM, GS, XG, Patches)
  50. - Display path and length of file
  51. - Invoke mixer
  52.  
  53. Click the "Hint" key in the About form to get an idea...
  54.  
  55. You should tell your browser that MidiGate should be invoked
  56. whenever a Mime = Audio/Midi (or whatever your server sends)
  57. file is received.
  58. MidiGate will automatically play a MIDI sequence when:
  59.         1) the browser receives a file with a Mime=Midi header
  60.         2) it is given a filename as an argument;
  61. otherwise, it will present a directory and file list to choose
  62. a sequence interactively.
  63.  
  64. In case (1) and (2), the sequence will be played even if the file
  65. received or given has an extension <> ".mid" - which does happen!
  66. The program will queue itself in if a sequence is received/given
  67. before another one has finished playing. At the end of play,
  68. the program automatically terminates, unless you defeat that
  69. function by clicking the checkbox at the end of the gauge.

  71. Finally, although the program is automatically reduced to an
  72. icon at start up, it can be restored if one wishes to see or
  73. control the status of the player.

  75. Installation Note: The Installation Kit file is MIDIGAT_.EXE.
  76. The actual executable file is MIDIGATE.EXE. Once you've
  77. run MIDIGAT_.EXE once (to install and create MIDIGATE.EXE)
  78. you may want to delete MIDIGAT_.EXE to save disk space.

  129. PRS grants to the user a nonexclusive license to use this Software 
  130. solely for its internal private purposes. The user shall not

  132. for any consideratione, the Software or any modification or
  133. derivation thereof, either alone or in conjunction with any other
  134. product or program without express prior written permission from
  135. PRS.  However, the shareware setup kit may be freely distributed
